We offer stays for primary schools and kindergartens focused on developing children’s creativity and practical craft skills. Our programs are based on experiential learning, where children discover the world through their own hands-on experience.
Children can try working with clay, textiles, or wood, as well as graphic techniques such as linocut or screen printing. Creative activities are available in short (60 min) or extended (120 min) formats and can be adapted to the current school curriculum.
Accommodation is provided in 10 cozy rooms for 3–6 people, with a total of 42 beds. The common room can be arranged either in a classic setup with tables and chairs or in a more informal style with mattresses and cushions.
Stays usually run from Monday to Friday and include 5 meals per day and a drinking regime. Upon request, we can also prepare packed lunches for the trip home.
For every 10 children, one adult stays free of charge.

If you’d like to give children a change of pace and allow yourself some time to relax, we offer evening programs such as Vilabela’s Got Talent, Storytelling evening, Night treasure hunt, Campfire gathering, or Quiz night.

All activities with instructors can be conducted in English or German.

With regard to children’s age and abilities, we explore the origin and importance of ceramics and pottery from a historical and artistic perspective. Children work with clay through modeling, decorating, glazing, and firing.
A textile workshop where children learn about the origin and history of textiles, traditional and non-traditional techniques of fiber processing: wool felting, spinning, weaving, dyeing with natural colors, sewing… and they try some of these techniques themselves.
Pupils get to know various carpentry tools and have the opportunity to visit a professional carpentry workshop and try some hand tools such as a hand drill, plane, chisel, and saw. They also learn the difference between soft and hard wood and, under guidance, create a piece based on their own imagination.
With a carving tool in hand and their own imagination, the linocut journey begins. Children first design a motif, then carve it into linoleum, ink it, and print it on paper using a press. Each print is unique and original — that’s where the magic lies. This technique develops patience, fine motor skills, and planning, yet remains playful and surprising until the very last roll of the press.
The role of books in our lives and a look into the past. Creating your own book — creative writing, illustration, page layout and binding, and cover design. We talk about the basics of typography, show different types of illustration and approaches, and try some of them ourselves.
The history of paper, handmade paper production, paper pulp modeling, paper pressing using various techniques, creating original covers for textbooks and notebooks, paper shades and other objects, and the Japanese art of origami.
